First of all update your system with the command:

sudo apt-get update

If xmix is not installed on your compter then the command 'dpkg -L xmix' will give followin error.

Installing xmix:

After system update use the following command to install xmix:

sudo apt-get install xmix

How to uninstall/remove xmix from Ubuntu 16.10?
